Alice Gibbons
San Francisco native Alice Gibbons is known for her meticulous etchings of buildings that capture the architectural beauty of San Francisco. "Two Eras" shows the iconic TransAmerica Pyramid, looming over an older building in the city's Financial District. It perfectly captures the juxtaposition of the old and the new that makes San Francisco so unique. "Two Eras" is from a limited edition of 50 prints. The piece measures 8" x 14" and was printed at the Graphic Arts Workshop, an artist-run printmaking cooperative which was founded in 1952 by faculty from the California Labor School.
